Following the judgment delivered by the ECJ on the ESL case, Eintracht Frankfurt reiterates its position and commitment to the values and future of European football.

Eintracht Frankfurt is committed to working through ECA alongside our fellow European clubs to uphold the strong partnership between ECA and UEFA. We do so in recognition of the major progressive governance reforms that have been implemented since the case has been brought before the highest European Court. Especially due to ECA’s reform, today, more clubs than ever before have access to crucial information regarding the football ecosystem and they are able to raise their voice in the decision-making process in relation to the competitions they participate in, which tremendously more democratic and transparent than before.

Axel Hellmann, Special Envoy to the ECA Executive Board, says: „We are convinced that within the ECA structures, we work best with UEFA and all recognized stakeholders of football to develop the game positively on the basis of the European principles of sporting meritocracy, inclusiveness, open competition and genuine solidarity. We were and keep fully committed to UEFA competitions, which we also underline by bidding for hosting a UEFA Europa League Final in Frankfurt.”
